Damaged

Her past made her a victim, her future will make her a legend.
Be the predator, not the prey.
I was never supposed to exist. A ghost in my own life, unseen, unloved, unprotected. Just a body to be used. A girl no one saved. I learned at a young age that monsters don't live under the bed. They wear familiar faces. They smile as they destroy you. I kept my mouth shut. I hid the bruises. I played my part. The good daughter. The good girlfriend. The good wife. I was the kind of girl who keeps your secrets while she drowns in her own. But survival? It changes you. It chips away at your humanity, at your innocence. It carves you into something dangerous. There's only so much damage a girl can take before being good stops making sense. Then you just want to burn it all down. They thought they could keep me quiet. That I'd keep taking the punches, the violations. The humiliation's. But I'm not that girl anymore.
I buried her in the Atlantic. Now, there's only me, the version they created through every act of cruelty, every betrayal. There's a darkness inside me, born the day I realized no one was coming to save me. It kept me alive. And now... it's hungry. I'm done surviving. I'm ready to make them bleed. And when I do, my vengeance won't just be remembered.
It'll be legendary. My names Roxy. This is my story, raw, ugly & unfiltered.
Monsters beware, I see you. I am coming for you.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR.

ROXY RICH

I am an author with a disability who lives in Somerset with my two children and my husband. My unusual experience, which includes having worked in the sex industry over 17 years ago, serves as a source of inspiration for my writing. I feel it is my duty to bring light on the tales of working girls, the social injustices they suffer. This experience has provided me with unique insights into the life of working girls. I am currently working on my second novel, as I intend to write a whole series that will be devoted to investigating the lives of women who work in the sex industry. Each new installment will focus on a different aspect of their life, thereby delivering a holistic and compassionate perspective of the world in which they live. By combining my years of lived experience with a more mature view on the complexities of the human condition, I believe that now is the ideal time in my life to offer these stories to a broader audience.
