A lovely copy of this historical fiction novel that tells the story of fraternal conflict at the court of Henri III.Written by noted nineteenth-century French writer and playwright, Alexandre Dumas. His most noted works includeThe Count of Monte Cristo (1844) and The Three Musketeers(1844). He often goes by Alexandre Dumaspère to distinguish himself from his son, also a writer, Alexandre Dumas fils.Including a frontispiece and vignette title page to each volume, as well as numerous in-text illustrations by French watercolourist Maurice Leloir, engraved by J. Huyot.Collated, complete.Part of an unnumbered limited edition publication printed on Japanese Paper.Handsomely bound in quarter morocco with marbled boards.
