Published by Sampson Low, Marston, Searle, & Rivington - London. Rough-cut page edges; gilt on spine and covers; tissue-guard on frontis both volumes; many b + w and color illustrations throughout each volume. Condition: antiquarian, old with some general wear to covers with light bumping to cover corners and along edges; some discolored areas on boards; some light, general wear to boards overall with slightly loose spine and fraying at corners and top/bottom spine. Previous owner bookplate on inside front covers both volumes; age-toning to pages and mild reference wear. Some light normal wear to pages with possibility of small tears or creases along edges. Overall, very nice set in excellent condition for age, about good condition.
