First Edition thus. Condition of all 4 books and slipcases is fine. Four (4) volumes in quarter burgundy cloth gilt over decorated boards, three novels per volume. Each volume housed in cardboard slipcase. A series of 12 related novels about British society (manners and morals) mid 19th century. Title of the Series comes from a Nicholas Poussin painting of the same name. Each volume with colour illustrations. A stunning set to grace any bookshelf.
