RITES OF PASSAGE

Before they can save the world, they must first save each other.

Bianca Jones knows there is evil in the world. One of her first cases as a detective for the Baltimore Police Department involved a family slaughtered by The Carver. Now to keep her city safe from the things that lurk in the shadows, she hunts monsters both human and otherwise for the BPD.

Bianca and Karver meet at the DMA Academy. Will Karver be able to keep his dark past a secret from the suspicious detective? What will Bianca do if she learns the truth? And when the time comes, will the two be able to work together - first to rescue a child and then to save the world?

With his empath partner Mandi Cobb, they protect and serve the innocent, by taking on zombie raisers, a twisted faerie kidnapper, a mage's hidden heart, Lovecraftian horrors, a nexus of evil so vile the president has considered using a nuclear option on American soil, those who make deals with the devil and use children's faces to do their evil, the beast with two backs, and Karver's own past.

There's been a debate among certain obscure and drunken literary scholars about whether PATRICK THOMAS was raised by Cthulhu or a leprechaun in a Manhattan bar. What there is no arguing about is that Patrick is the award-winning author of 50+ books including the beloved fantasy humor Murphy's Lore series, the darkly hilarious Dear Cthulhu advice empire, as well as the Bikini Jones adventure books. Patrick pens the Hexcraft and Terrorbelle urban fantasy series, co-writes the Mystic Investigators paranormal mystery series, and is the creator of the Agents of the Abyss. Dear Cthulhu has expanded from magazines and books to broadcast monthly on the radio show Destinies: The Voice of Science Fiction. Over 100 of his stories have been published in magazines and anthologies. A number of his books were part of the props department of the CSI television show and Nightcaps was even thrown at a suspect's head. His urban fantasy Fairy With A Gun at one point had been optioned for film and TV by Laurence Fishburne's Cinema Gypsy Productions. Top Men Productions turned his Soul For Hire Story, Act of Contrition, into a short film. DPH Games is releasing a card game based on his 142nd Starborne military SF stories. As Patrick T. Fibbs, he writes middle readers including the Babe B. Bear Mysteries, The Undead Kid Diaries, Joy Reaper Checks Out, the YA Emotional Support Nightmare, and the Fushia The Mermaid and the Ughabooz picture books for younger kids.
