The Dark Sides of Personality and How to Overcome Them (Paperback or Softback)

“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart;…” (Jeremiah 1:5, NIV)

God created us with a unique purpose and laid out a plan for our lives, but so often our weaknesses—call them sins, temptations, desires of the flesh, or even distractions—muffle His Word and keep us from living the life our Creator intends for us. Just as important as the weaknesses we experience as broken vessels, we all have God-given talents and strengths.

You might have an idea of what your strengths and weaknesses are and even where they come from. Some of our gifts and failings are the result of our design, and some are learned from our caregivers or environments. So where do we find answers on how to galvanize our strengths and overcome our weaknesses?

The answer is simple and lies in the same place all Christians seek wisdom. The Dark Sides of Personality and How to Overcome Them uniquely positions personality theory in the biblical framework, providing examples of different personality styles, weaknesses, and strengths from Scripture. In addition, using their own version of empirically validated DISC Assessment, authors Jay and Mary McSwain provide you not only a profile of your unique personality type but also an in-depth analysis of your strengths and weaknesses in several areas of life, including your thinking style, emotions, leadership, communication, relationships, will and self-discipline, and how you deal with conflict and offense as well as practical advice on how to work through your shortcomings and bolster your innate strengths.

In The Dark Sides of Personality and How to Overcome Them, you will find a blueprint for taking control of your life. Step out of the darkness and into His light.
