About the Author
Throughout 2009 and 2010, Shade Rupe produced the Deep Red International Festival of Fantastic Film in Seattle and Portland, programmed the 26th Olympia Film Festival, served as Chairman of the International Jury at the 15th Lund International Festival of Fantastic Film in southern Sweden, curated a weekend film festival at Sundance, coproduced the four-city Ken Russell tour Russellmania! along with Fantasia, Lincoln Center, the American Cinematheque, and Rue Morgue, wrote the feature film Fear Factory, was a guest at the Night Visions festival in Helsinki, and completed this book. He also edited the acclaimed Funeral Party journals and has done a mess of other stuff. A few of his favorite films are Performance, The Devils, Zardoz, All That Jazz, Stardust Memories, and The Hourglass Sanitorium, and favorite musicians he's seen live include Grizzly Bear, Krzysztof Penderecki, The Master Musicians of Bukkake, Diamanda Galás, and The Black Angels.
