Darkened Heart (Apocalypse Rising)

Last trial and Hoke finds his female in a woman that reminds him of the love of his life. A fiery red head, she’s interesting and quirky and he knows he can never love her. Long ago he lost his heart to Drew, the only female member of the Brotherhood in existence, and was devastated when she was torn from the life they had together. So the woman he is meant to have is a second stringer but he is willing to make it work, for the world, and for his family. It is too bad she isnt. Alexandra “Lex” is a woman with no memory of her past, or the myriad of scars that decorate her body. On her own for as long as she can remember, she finds Hoke interesting but wants nothing to do with him in a relationship sense. Relationships, and the man that is looking for one, do not fit in her life plan. Until they do. Now things have changed for both of them. With the return of the woman he lost, Hoke is given a second chance at love and the life he was denied so long ago. But getting one’s heart’s desire isn’t without its pitfalls, and when Drew figures out she is back for a devastating reason, it is up to her to save the world, even if it means losing the only part of it she ever cared for.
