Some dangers don't come for your life.
They come for your soul.

Vanessa Scanlon has always felt the world shifting beneath her skin-
glimpses of another life, memories that aren't hers, and dreams that feel like warnings.

But the night a stranger walks into her bar, everything changes.

His presence hits her like destiny.
His eyes shift colors like stormlight.
And every time he's near, reality fractures-visions of blood, orchids blooming in impossible colors, a future that feels already written.

Soon, Vanessa is being watched. Touched. Pulled toward something ancient and hungry-something that knows her better than she knows herself.

And when he appears in her home without ever opening a door...
when he whispers her private thoughts back to her...
when the dreams turn violent...

She finally understands:

She isn't losing her mind.
She's remembering it.

As a forgotten war stirs beneath the skin of the world, Vanessa must uncover who she was, what she is, and why something powerful-and terrifying-has marked her.

Because marked souls don't get happy endings.

They get claimed.

Darkness Awakens is a haunting, sensual, slow-burn dark fantasy where desire becomes prophecy, danger becomes intimacy, and every choice leads one step closer to a war already catching fire.

If you love forbidden pull, psychic tension, dark mythology, and romance that tastes like sin, welcome to Velvetate.

Where nothing is safe.
Least of all your heart.
