Darkness Into The Light

This collection of poetry divides itself into three sections. The first, Darkness, centres on a difficult time when I faced discrimination, disappointment and loss, all too familiar to many women in their fifties. The second part, Shade, was written mainly during a period of transition. There is darkness with a few chinks of light. The third part, Into the Light, was written later, and is perhaps testament to the idea that ‘this too will pass’, that looking outward instead of inward is often a better choice in our journey through life, and that the ageing process, far from bringing a gradual decline, can offer new beginnings and an opening up of opportunities.
