Kenneth Oppel a seulement douze ans lorsqu'il décide de devenir auteur. Il fait ses débuts en écrivant des romans de science-fiction, puis se lance dans l'écriture de contes de sorciers. L'année où il finit ses études secondaires, son premier livre, Colin's Fantastic Video Adventure, est sur les tablettes de toutes les librairies. Kenneth a poursuit ses études en cinéma et en anglais à l'Université de Toronto. À ce jour, il a publié plus de 20 livres pour enfants et adolescents, ainsi qu'un roman pour adultes. Kenneth Oppel was born in 1967 in Port Alberni,British Columbia and spent most of his childhood in Victoria and Halifax. He has a BA from the University of Toronto (a double major in cinema studies and English). He is the best-selling author of the Silverwing series wich has sold over a million copies worldwide and has won numerous awards including the Mr. Christie's Book Award, the CLA Book of the Year for Children Award and the Ruth and Sylvia Schwartz Award, as well as a host of children's choice awards across the country. Kenneth lives in Toronto, Ontario.
