Synopsis
How a young physicist with a tennis ball connects distant regions of the multiverse and why some people are more suitable than others to become superheroes.
Lora is a young physicist working to further the achievements of her friend and retired famous professor Dr. Shim. As her predecessor at the quantum lab she now leads, the doctor left behind a machine that stands to change the world forever. Before it does, Lora is given a unique chance to delve deeper into the doctor's theories and explore some of the more exotic possibilities offered by his machine.
As a result of a previous publicity nightmare, her research is kept quiet until there are presentable results. But when Lora meets an oddly dressed stranger, who knows a lot more about her project that he should, her world is slowly turned upside down. Why is this visitor looking for her help? And how is he so familiar with her work?
Meanwhile the city is kept relatively safe by locally accepted, self-proclaimed superhero Dart. With carefully calculated risk to his own wellbeing, he roams the city in search of people in distress. He uses his uncanny talent to find trouble and insert himself into it. This superpower, if it qualifies as such, combines rather poorly with his inflated ego and remarkably flawed personality, blurring the line between finding and making trouble.
About the Author
In one life, he built a career as an embedded software engineer in The Netherlands, working on cutting edge technology that might someday change the world. In another, he was a signed electronic dance music producer, crafting beats for nearly a decade. He has a keen interest in music and the natural sciences. Some rather improbable events propelled him into his next adventure as an author. It just goes to show that you don't need a multiverse to live a multitude of lives.
