Darwinism Tested By Language (1877)

Darwinism Tested By Language is a book written in 1877 by Frederic Bateman. The book challenges the ideas of Charles Darwin's theory of evolution and natural selection by examining the role of language in human evolution. Bateman argues that language is not a product of natural selection, but rather a result of human ingenuity and creativity. He suggests that the ability to use language is a unique human trait that cannot be explained by Darwin's theory of evolution. The book provides a detailed analysis of the history and development of language, and explores the relationship between language and human cognition. Bateman's work is considered an important contribution to the debate on the origins of language and its significance in human evolution. The book is written in a scholarly style and is aimed at academics and researchers in the field of linguistics and evolutionary biology. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
