With the evolution of digitized data, our society has become dependent on services to extract valuable information and enhance decision making by individuals, businesses, and government in all aspects of life. Therefore, emerging cloud-based infrastructures for storage have been widely thought of as the next generation solution for the reliance on data increases. Dimosthenis Kyriazis received the diploma from the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens, Athens, Greece in 2001, the MS degree in Techno-Economic Systems (MBA) co-organized by the Electrical and Computer Engineering Dept - NTUA, Economic Sciences Dept - National Kapodistrian University of Athens, Industrial Management Dept - University of Piraeus and his Ph.D. from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the National Technical University of Athens in 2007. He is currently a Research Engineer in the Telecommunication Laboratory of the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS). Before joining the ICCS he worked in the private sector as Telecom Software Engineer. He has participated in numerous EU / National funded projects (such as IRMOS, NextGRID, Akogrimo, BEinGRID, HPC-Europa, GRIA, Memphis, CHALLENGERS, HellasGRID, etc) and currently serves as the Technical Coordinator of the IRMOS EU project. His research interests include Grid computing, scheduling, Quality of Service provision, and workflow management in heterogeneous systems and service oriented architectures.

Athanasios Voulodimos was born in Athens, Greece, in 1984. He received his Dipl.-Ing. degree from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2007, ranking among the top 2% of his class. In 2010 he acquired an MSc in Techno-economic Systems after completing a two year Masters program co-organized by the National Technical University of Athens and the University of Piraeus. In 2011 he received his PhD from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of NTUA in the area of computer vision and machine learning focusing on behavior recognition from video. He has been and is currently involved in National and European research projects, such as SCOVIS, My-e-Director 2012, and VISION Cloud. He is currently leading the Construction Activity of the EU EXPERIMEDIA IP project. He has published more than 35 papers in international conferences, workshops, and journals. His main research interests include computer vision, machine learning, as well as ubiquitous and cloud computing.

Spyridon V. Gogouvitis was born in Athens, Greece in 1982. He received the Dipl. -Ing. from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2006. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. while working as a Researcher in the Telecommunication Laboratory of the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS). In the past he has been actively involved in several EU and National funded projects such as the Interactive Realtime Multimedia Applications on Service Oriented Infrastructures (IRMOS) project. He has also worked as a developer for the Hellenic Army Information Systems Support Centre and as a consultant for the General Secretariat for Information Systems of the Hellenic Ministry of Economy and Finance. Currently he is NTUAs team leader in the VISION Cloud EU Project. His research interests include Grid and Cloud Computing, Workflow Management, as well as Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing.
