Late Victorian-era stereoview showing a large date tree and with two captions: "For a vivid description of St. Augustine, read Bloomfield s Historical Guide" [and] "Florida, the Land of Flower and Tropical Scenery." (Bloomfield s Illustrated Historical Guide, Embracing an Account of the Antiquities of St. Augustine, Florida… was first published in 1882.) The date palm is a major agricultural crop in Florida, and the state is one of the largest producers of dates in the United States.
