Dating the Other Color and His Mother Do mothers always want what's best for you or what's best for them?
Let me first start by saying this is not a book that is based on a story about an interracial couple dating and facing the ignorance of their families, friends, and society as a whole. This is a book that is going to give women who are dating outside of their race the lowdown on how to deal with not only a mother who's jealous that her son is being taken away from her bosom, but a mother who's angry because she's losing her son to a woman of another race-a race that she may not be too fond of.
Dating The Other Color and His Mother is a book on how females can deal with racism coming from their man's mother. I wrote this book because I went through racism and hatred from my husband's mother while we dated for 6 years. While I was going though that situation I would seek advice on how to handle certain situation she threw at me. In the persuit for advice I would come up empty. I could never find a book or a internet resource of advice for people in interracial relationships, dealing with racism like I was. So thats how this book was created. I want to reach out to other women that are in the same situation I was in and help them get through it. In the book I will give plenty of my own personal experiences that maybe other females in this situation can relate to and I tell them how I handled the situation. I will also give them geniune advice on how to have peace of mind in such a sad situation. I was born in Virginia but now reside with my husband in West Palm Beach Florida. I am currently a 2nd grade teacher.
