This VG quality book was published in 1944 by Crown Publishing Company. It is 7-1/2" tall and has 250 numbered pages followed by an unnumbered page advertising the next book in this series; it is a thin copy, only 3/4" thick. It is square, very clean, completely free of corner bumps and edge dings; the head and heel of the spine are barely bumped with no cloth damage. The bottom edges and lower front corners have very little wear though the rear board has 3 pin-point sized holes in the cloth. The exterior is in very nice condition--it has very little wear or soiling. Except for fairly heavy toning of the end pages, the interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and page damage of any type. Both hinges are strong and not damaged. There are no illustrations, not even a frontis, in this book or any other book in this series. The paper is slightly toned but not brittle and it is quite flexible. The VG- quality jacket is reasonably clean and not faded; it has tiny chips at all four corners and at the head of the spine (no lettering is lost); the heel of the spine has a "U" shaped closed tear.
