As well as household goods, especially cutlery, Mellor designed many other objects now in everyday use, such as traffic lights, bus stops and pedestrian crossings. The current work also has good material on his architecture - he worked extensively with Michael Hopkins Partnership, including their joint design of the Round Building, Mellor's workplace outside Sheffield and 22 Shad Thames, his retail outlet in London. Updated and much expanded version of a 1998 Sheffield Museum exhibition catalogue.
