Davidson's Clinical Cases, 1e

Awarded a First Prize in the 2009 British Medical Association Medical Books Competition, Davidson's Clinical Cases reflects the real world in which doctors practise medicine. Patients may present with problems that cross several organ systems and with no obvious diagnosis in sight! This selection of clinical problems guides the reader, step by step, through the correct path in the maze between the presenting complaint of a patient and the final diagnosis. The text emphasises the value of interpreting available clinical and investigative information in a logical way before considering a definitive diagnosis. The authors of the book are a truly international group drawn from both the contributors to Davidson's Principles and Practice of Medicine and from members of the International Advisory Board to ensure that a global approach is taken to the contents of the book.

• Contains over 90 cases based on the "presenting problems" of Davidson's Principles and Practice of Medicine
• Provides an international outlook reflecting differences in the practice of medicine in the developing world and in low-resource settings
• Includes a section on 'Global Issues' at the end of each case study addressing epidemiological, economic and other reasons for many of these important differences
• Written by a team of senior doctors, from different parts of the world, with considerable teaching experience
• Reflects a personal approach to the difficult problems of diagnosis

"An excellent addition to the library of any clinical student, this volume helps elucidate the steps necessary to arrive at a clinical diagnosis. The step wise approach to case development is particularly helpful, guiding the reader through the steps necessary for clinical diagnosis."
