15x12.5 cm. Original brown gilt-stamped illustrated boards. Overall fair to good condition with text block loose and splits along folds in the strip of illustrations mended. 58 pp., 32 uncolored photographic views on 14 leaves (accordion-style), including frontispiece. (These are view copied from photographs, not original photos tipped in.) This is a scarce locally produced souvenir booklet. Guide books utilizing this technique of reproducing photographs was very popular in the 1880's until technology to reproduce photographs directly was more advanced in the 1890's. Not in Dow.
