New old stock; overstock from former book distributor. One of the most fun pioneer memoirs, this edition is largely a reissue of the 1934 edition for the Caxton Club. This reminiscence, though lacking in grandhistorical facts, quite simply gives the best description of atypical day on the Oregon Trail. A review of the Northwestpublishers who have reprinted this attests to its enduringinterest: Oregon Historical Quarterly (1900), the CaxtonClub edition of 1934 which includes Jesse A. Applegate?sexcellent Recollections of My Boyhood from 1914, ChampoegPress (1943), and Ye Galleon Press (1990). See Jones & Givens, Oregon 100 #3.
