My Day... A Long Distance Lullaby was created from a very personal place. Sometimes specificity can create a sense of familiarity, so as an artist I set out to create a universal appeal by focusing on the little keepsakes that remind me daily of my loved ones from afar. I hope they make you think of the special objects that hold value for you and your loved ones. Throughout the process I have considered the many possible modes and causes of separation, including but not limited to my own experience. I hope this book will be relatable for all those who suffer from such separation, whether that be from divorce, death, working transnationally, working long hours, recovering in shelters and hospitals, living in prisons, dealing with deportation, moving around within military bases, or for any other reason, large or small. My Day... sets out to reassure children (and adults) that the love is real and that it can be tangible, even when it is from afar. I have dedicated the following blank pages for you and your loved ones to deepen your My Day... experience and create your own memory images.  Be creative!
