Experience a deeper Christian walk with this classic 365-day devotional by Martin Luther that follows the church calendar.
This profound collection of rich devotions based on the writings of Martin Luther is beautifully offered in a durable soft cover with a sturdy cover and flaps making it a perfect bedside devotional or gift. Themes of grace, redemption, justice, compassion and truth are all drawn from Martin Luther's sermons and other works.
The year-long collection of Christian readings are arranged according to the church year and organized under a central theme for each week. In addition to each devotion, a Bible verse and prayer or quotation to ponder are included for each day. Select readings for Thanksgiving, the Feast of the Reformation, and a Day of Penitence are interspersed accordingly.

About the Author
Marshall D. Johnson was a biblical scholar, pastor, and former editorial director of Fortress Press. He wrote several books, including Making Sense of the Bible (Wm. B. Eerdmans, 2002) and The Evolution of Christianity (Continuum, 2005). He lived in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Martin Luther stands as one of the most significant figures in Western history. His distinction as the father of the Protestant Reformation is augmented by his innovative use of new technology (the printing press), his translation of the Christian Bible into the vernacular, and his impact upon European society. Born in 1483 to middle-class parents in Saxony, eastern Germany, he became an Augustinian monk, a priest, a professor of biblical literature, a reformer, a husband and father. He died in 1546 after having witnessed the birth of a renewal movement that would result in a profound shift in faith, politics, and society. He has been both praised and vilified for what he preached and wrote. His thought continues to influence all Christians and to animate the movement that bears his name.
