A Day and Its Night

"Can a poem be just this?"

In his debut poetry collection, award-winning actor George Abud invites readers into a world where the smallest moments carry infinite weight. Through poetry and aphorism, he explores longing, self-discovery, and the quiet strength found in not rushing, reminding us of our shared search for significance, connection, and a deeper understanding of ourselves.

From the stillness of a night refusing to end, to noticing a new hue in an already luminous sky, to missing a lover you have yet to meet, each page transforms the seemingly insignificant into something radiant. Here, the ordinary becomes extraordinary; each nothing becomes a luminous something.

Guiding readers through an inner landscape where soulful understanding resides, A Day and Its Night advises the reader that to find clarity in yourself is to find clarity for the world.

Within these verses, love and restraint, ache and relief, terror and truth, reaching and freedom coexist-woven into a vivid tapestry that distills the arc of a single day into its most glittering depths and boundless hopes.

A Day and Its Night is for readers who long to slow down, who seek gentle reflection and vulnerable truths, and who recognize humanity's unending capacity for beauty. Whether contemplating the unmasking of life on a lover's sleeping face, the sigh of an oud as it sings one perfect note, or the ecstasy of a pink sky, these poems are a reminder to see the world anew.

For lovers of poetry, this book will be your reminder; this poet, your voice.
