Daybreaks: Daily Reflections for Lent and Easter

Lenten readings begin with the words, “Come back to me ...”. Throughout these forty days, we examine our relationships, especially with God, and rebuild them with love and redemption.

Each day of Lent and Easter, Sr. Dianne Bergant writes about various Bible stories—stories that we think we know well—and relates them to the experiences of our daily lives. While the lessons of love and mercy that Jesus teaches are sometimes difficult to accept, Lent is the perfect time to make the decision to turn toward God and receive his love and mercy.

Dianne Bergant, CSA, is a Sister of St. Agnes. She earned her master’s degree and doctorate from Saint Louis University, and honorary degrees and accolades from many organizations. Sister Dianne was a professor of Biblical Studies at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago from 1978 to 2014 and served as President of Catholic Biblical Association of America (2000-2001). She is the author of Liguori’s Daybreaks daily seasonal reflections and the biblical reflections for Our Parish Community bulletins.
