A Dead Hero and Very Strange Dream

In this evocative collection, the author C. E. Carper takes readers on two gripping journeys that probe the fragile boundaries of human experience. In A Dead Hero, Ralph Adler, a weary artist facing a terminal diagnosis, is sent to a secluded hospice promising comfort, but its serene exterior hides a dark purpose: transforming the dying into agents for covert operations. As Ralph confronts his mortality, he must navigate loyalty, morality, and love in a world where humanity is a negotiable commodity. In A Very Strange Dream, Carper delves into the surreal landscape of memory and fate, where dreams twist reality and challenge perception. Through precise, haunting prose, these tales illuminate human vulnerability, the disturbing cost of choices, and the elusive line between life, death, and the truths we dare not face. A good read for fans of suspense, psychological drama, and thought-provoking fiction.
