The Ring meets Needful Things in DEADBOX, a supernatural horror tale where small-town life, the darkest of secrets, and a cursed entertainment-in-a-box will be the death of everyone.
YOU ARE WHAT YOU WATCH...
WELCOME TO LOST TURKEY!
A town where the main source of entertainment is a cursed DVD machine that seems to know more about the fate of its citizens than they do.
When a resident of Lost Turkey walks into the Stop n’Shop Convenience/Gas, they grab a bite and a gab with Penny, who keeps the business running while her father is fading away (literally). Trapped in the box of horrors that make up everyday existence, Penny and the other residents find escape in the only entertainment in town: a DVD rental box that holds the town’s darkest secrets hidden within its depths – and the movies the residents rent. Where their fates are framed within the films they choose, and where they may be able to find a way out - or not. Lost Turkey: a small town where opportunities, dreams, and entertainment are limited, but where secrets - nightmares – are limitless.
Collects the entire five-issue series!
For fans of Sweet Tooth, Essex County, Gideon Falls, Grass Kings, Stillwater, Revival, Ice Cream Man, The Silver Coin, The Ring, and Needful Things and social commentary wrapped in the supernatural.
“Deadbox ... exciting ... for fans of movies, comics, and horror” - Screen Rant
" … striking, skin-crawlingly effective …" - SYFY Wire
"The finest bit of social satire Mark Russell has ever written and one of the best anthologies of weird tales since the original Twilight Zone. It is a must read for all fans of quality comics." -- Kabooooom
"Deadbox is an incredibly smart comic that finds a lot to be scared of in stupidity, but also a lot to laugh at. ... the series stands on the strength of its sharp wit and its visual comedy." -- Graphic Policy
"The 'twists' in the tale add a level of darkness and enjoyability to yet another Vault Comics hit." -- Comic Crusaders
"If you like your parody and social commentary with a slap and an evil grimace, you’ll like Deadbox!" – The Fanboy Factor
"Very smart stuff..." -- Comics Bookcase
