Deadly Dividends (2nd Edition): David emil Henderson

"Deadly Dividends" is the original "plain cover" edition of the romantic thriller "Escape!" by David Emil Henderson. This 2nd Edition continues the original book’s title, but Internet search engines have had a tendency to divert inquiries to books about financial investments and ‘Dividends.’ — nothing this story is about! But we kept this version for those shoppers who like blue portfolios, and we released a newer version with a whole different cover under the tiitle “Escape!” — which better describes the reader experience. For instance:Have you ever had one of those moments, yearning to hit the road and just follow the sun?On Chicago?s North Shore, in posh Lake Forest, Elissa Bennett Pope threw away a fortune when she couldn?t stand being married to it. She was ripe for any escape — even one that wrenched her into the orbit of a man accused of murder.Architect Grey Harper denied shooting his corporate client over a $60 million project at the old Fort Sheridan army base. Whoever did that deed would target Harper next, he insisted — and Elissa, too, because she had kept a business meeting with Harper at the exact wrong time.Racing west on I-80 toward Harper?s California cliff-top home at Carmel By-the-Sea, it seems impossible to evade an FBI manhunt joined by every law enforcement agency for 2200 miles. Even more ominous are “men without faces” from the Pentagon, intent on keeping all secrets buried.Against staggering odds, Harper is clever — maybe “too clever” for Elissa. If he?s trying to hide from everybody, does a gorgeous companion become an attraction or a distraction? An accomplice or a hostage? And within her own mind, is Elissa's astounding beauty a deadly curse? All journeys must end. But this one terminates with a colossal bang.

David Emil Henderson began his journalism career in 1960s magazines, when he crafted personal interviews with Henry Fonda, Barbra Streisand, Robert Preston, Charlton Heston, and other luminaries, along with a broad range of news and features.

As editor for a Chicago suburban newspaper chain owned by Time, Inc., Henderson directed the editorial content of five newspapers, including The Evanston Review, chosen by a national newspaper publishers' association as First in the Nation for General Excellence. Later, as editor and publisher of a Montana newspaper, he won the state press association's top awards for editorial writing, column writing, feature stories, and news reports.

In California, he created national print and video marketing programs for nine San Francisco Bay Area daily newspapers, including those owned by Gannett, The Tribune Company, Media News Group, and The New York Times. Henderson and his wife now own a small-market publishing enterprise in Northern California.

David Emil Henderson, not to be confused with several other authors named David Henderson, has published two novels as of January 2013. They include:

!. "Escape!", a romantic thriller that hurries to keep pace with Architect Grey Harper and his dazzling companion, Elissa Bennett Pope, as they race 2250 miles from a Fort Sheridan, Illinois crime scene to a cliff-top climax on the California coast.

2. "Montana Midnight," a tense and often humorous portrait of a small town caught in a fiery clash between environmental militants and corporate kingpins. Rich in local lore and characterizations, it's drawn from Henderson's busy decade of publishing the news in the nation's fourth-largest state.
