AGATHA CHRISTIE - DEATH IN THE AIR, published by Grosset & Dunlap, copyright 1935, circa 1935/36, First Printing thus (lists to "Murder In Three Acts" on pre-title page, 5 G&D ad pages at rear and $.75 price pon DJ front flap confirm the dating), Dodd Mead sold the reprint rights (as well as the printing plates) to Grosset & Dunlap who were (weirdly) too lazy to change the copyright page, off-white endpapers, blue cloth boards with orange lettering to spine & front panel (same size/thickness/board formatting as on the Dodd Mead 1st edition). BAR NONE - ONE OF THE RAREST 1930s DODD MEAD AGATHA CHRISTIE U.S. 1STS TO FIND IN DUST JACKET (ONLY TUESDAY CLUB MURDERS IS HARDER TO FIND) AND WHICH MAKES THIS G&D REPRINT NEARLY AS HARD TO FIND.

Book has no creased page corners, no former ownership markings or used bookstore stamps inside, red top stain is nice without fading or drop spots, no foxing to pages or endpapers or outer page edges, slight age darkening/dust soiling to outer page edges, no wear to board edges or board corner, barest hint of wear to spine tips, no spine darkening, no rubbing to spine lettering, no dust/handling soiling to boards & spine, tiny\ bumped board corner.

Dust jacket has irregular losses at spine tips and top of front panel, small tear at bottom of front flap crease with related creasing otherwise no chipping, tearing or creasing, wear to spine tips & to front flap crease (largish nick losses at flap crease corners), edge wear, hint of color wear to left/right of spine, almost no color rubbing to front panel, hint of dust rubbing to white rear panel, no soiling or staining.

Overall a FINE-/N-FINE book in VG-/VG condition dust jacket (not price clipped) of rare very mid-1930s era Agatha Christie printing book with original dust jacket. I have a number of other U.K. and U.S. Agatha Christie 1st printing hardcover books up for sale.
