Death by Decibels

In the midst of a Midwest town’s fall festivals, pumpkins, and autumn leaves, Elise needs to find the courage to uncover the truth about her colleague and best friend’s murderer before she loses her patients, her business, and one night, alone in a darkened cornfield, possibly…her life.

E. S. Hearing Labs rep Tierneigh Brown’s anticipation is over the top with the release of a new digital chip that will significantly alleviate the frustrations faced by those with hearing difficulties, her own dad among them. Too restless to sleep, she comes into E. S. Hearing Labs early to prepare for the first-ever chip training, to be attended by her friends and colleagues, but her excitement turns to confusion when she overhears the acoustical engineer and company accountant livid over new information that the chip does not work. When Dr. Elise Harte finds Tierneigh’s body that night in the lab’s sound-proof test chamber, everything is turned upside down. Especially when an audiology student working in Elise’s office is arrested for the murder!
