Death on the Seine: A Madeleine Rousseau Mystery

Set against the decadent charm of mid-century Paris, Death on the Seine is a darkly enchanting blend of wit, beauty, and psychological tension. Think Emily in Paris meets The Talented Mr. Ripley—with a heroine as intoxicating as the city she’s determined to claim.
Paris, 1960. Madeleine Rousseau arrives from Vassar College expecting romance, culture, and the glitter of a new life along the Seine. But Paris is not the sophisticated fantasy she imagined. Its grand boulevards and riverbanks become the stage for something far darker as Madeleine struggles to get by. She is desperate for a life of wealth, security, and oblivion. So when an encounter with an unexpected socialite spurs winds of change, Madeleine becomes exactly what others want: charming, self-possessed, a little mysterious. A young woman who can glide through Paris with enviable ease and a sharp, amused eye for its beauty and absurdity. But when someone threatens her carefully constructed new life, Madeleine handles the situation with the same quiet efficiency she’s used before. Cleanly. Calmly. Without remorse.

A persistent investigator begins to circle. Old secrets stir. New temptations arise. And the façade she’s perfected starts to crack—revealing a mind far more calculating than anyone suspects.

A story of freedom, reinvention, and the exquisite lengths one woman will go to ensure her past stays hidden and her future stays golden.
