Connie Santangelo was a good girl in high school, on her way to a successful life when Sonny Cardinelli got Connie pregnant and then deserted her and their two toddler daughters. Alone, with no way to care for her family, Connie became an exotic dancer with a flourishing career until the blackouts that had haunted her youth became more severe, the worst of all landing her in the hospital. Her physicians failed to make a diagnosis of a heart condition that only a few weeks later killed Connie and orphaned her girls. About the Author

. Peter Kowey is a cardiologist and an internationally respected expert in heart rhythm disorders. After college at St. Joseph s University in Philadelphia, he attended medical school at the University of Pennsylvania and trained in cardiology at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital and the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston. For the past 33 years, he has developed a large referral practice in Philadelphia. He is also a Professor of Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology at Jefferson Medical College and holds the William Wikoff Smith Chair in Cardiovascular Research at the Lankenau Institute for Medical Research. Dr. Kowey s research has led to the development of new cardiac drugs and devices. He has authored hundreds of scientific papers and textbooks and has taught and mentored scores of medical students, fellows, residents and physicians in practice. His most recent venture has been fiction writing. His first three novels, Lethal Rhythm, Deadly Rhythm, and The Empty Net were published in 2010, 2012, and 2014. Dr. Kowey and his wife Dorothy have three successful daughters and two sons-in-law, all attorneys, and six grandchildren. Their permanent residence is in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, but they spend time throughout the year with their Portuguese water dogs at their Pocono Mountain lake house.
