The Death of Science: A Novel Introduction to Rootworld

The Earth is a different place after the continental convergence, but teenage girls are facing the same social challenges while transitioning from high school and into the real world where magic and science now co-exist.
Kristen is skipping school and coping with the loss of her father when she meets the grim reaper under an old washed-out shop of curiosities in the abandoned Art District. While he isn’t there to administer her the death touch, he is there to help her kill Time.
Over the course of the day, Kristen begins to get an odd feeling that she is playing a part in the stories that the curious deadhead is sharing with her. Death introduces her to the personifications of Time, Fate, Mother Nature, and the Father of Lies, who will have to be thwarted if Kristen expects to obtain her visa.
After her breakthrough experience with Death, things get weird for her and her crew. John, Levi, Gunner, and Beav start experiencing some terrifying magic of their own while preparing for their paintball game down in the swamp. When they suspect something bad has happened to Kristen, they embark on a rescue mission fit for the birds.
The Death of Science is a Novel Introduction to Rootworld and a good starting point to embark on your own adventure into a vast and multi-faceted universe that is oddly reminiscent of the one we live in today.
