Gold gilt upper page ends are bright. Covers exhibit light wear and fraying on the corners and spine ends. Light shelf wear and soiling to covers. Light yellowing and soiling to inside front and back covers. Light yellowing to front and bottom rough cut page ends. Light yellowing to text due to age. There is underlining in ink on one page of the introduction. The rest of text is clean and unmarked. Hinges are tight. The full page b&w illustration in the front of the book and the fold-out map showing the approximate route of Manly to Los Angeles are both clean and unmarked. Hinges are tight.
