Gerald Barrax teaches English at North Carolina State University. He is author of two other volumes of poetry, Another Kind of Rain and An Audience of One. His poems have also appeared in numerous periodicals, including Poetry, Black World, Southern Poetry Review, Journal of Black Poetry, The Georgia Review, Poetry Northwest, Essence, and Callaloo.
