Translated from the Italian by J. M. Riggs, and with an introduction by Edward Hutton. Numbers 845 & 846 in Everyman's Library Romance series, edited by Ernest Rhys. --- In EL binding style 3 with full light blue cloth and gilt-stamped spine titling; blindstamped Eric Ravilious-designed 'shell' to covers, and brown topstain. Volumes wrapped in orange dust jackets with Ravilious 'knot' to front panels. --- With prior owner's dated signatures to front free endpapers, attractive Foyles of Charing Cross bookseller label to front paste-down of vol. 2, else a tightly-bound, unmarked set.
