A lovely leather bound edition comprising the satires of Juvenal and Persius. The Satires are a collection of satirical poems by the Latin author Juvenal written in the late first and early second centuries AD.Featuring an analysis and commentary on Juvenal's works. With an appendix of the gods, heroes and poets, the intelligence necessary for the Poets. Decimus Lunius Luvenalis, known in English as Juvenal, was a Roman poet best know for this work.Aulus Persius Flaccus was a poet and satirist whose works demonstrate a Stoic influence. He lived between 34 and 62AD. In a full roan binding. Externally, wear to extremities. The joints are cracking and the front hinge is starting. Internally, generally firmly bound though the front free endpaper is loose. Otherwise bright and clean though there are some pencil annotations to the rear pastedown and to a number of pages. Good.
