About the Author

James W. Ermatinger is Dean Emeritus of the College of Liberal Arts and Science and Professor of History at the University of Illinois Springfield, USA. He is author of All Things Ancient Greece: An Encyclopedia of the Greek World (2022), The Roman Empire: A Historical Encyclopedia (2018), The World of Ancient Rome: A Daily Life Encyclopedia (2015), Daily Life in the New Testament (2008), Daily Life of Christians in Ancient Rome (2006), and The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire (2004).
