Erik M. Francis, MEd, MS, is an international author and presenter who specializes in teaching and learning for cognitive rigor. He has worked as a classroom teacher, a site administrator, an education program specialist with a state education agency, and a professional development trainer. Erik provides professional development on designing and delivering authentic, student-centered educational experiences. His areas of expertise include depth of knowledge (Webb's DOK), questioning and inquiry, authentic learning, differentiated instruction, personalized learning, and talent development. Erik has conducted professional development trainings and workshops at K-12 schools, colleges, and universities throughout the United States and internationally. Erik received a master's degree in education leadership from Northern Arizona University and a master of science in television, radio, and film production and management from the S. I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. He also holds a bachelor of arts in rhetoric and communication and English from the State University of New York at Albany.
