Deep Like Me Or Another Failed Attempt to Walk on Water

Following Jesus is more complex and challenging than anybody expects when they start out on the journey. It's not just attending church, reading your Bible and minding your Ps and Qs; it is an adventure filled with wonder and difficulty, with unlearning and relearning. In Deep Like Me, pastor Rick Bundschuh shares what he had discovered about shuffling after Jesus, and invites readers to wrestle, grieve, re-evaluate, redirect, focus, contemplate, be still and get real about living the life of a disciple. Rick's story-driven musings are explorative instead of instructive, contemplative rather than confrontational, yet he warmly invites the reader to stride, stumble, shuffle or crawl in the footsteps of Jesus.

RICK BUNDSCHUH is a pastor, veteran youth worker, writer, speaker and cartoonist based in Kauai, Hawaii. Fortunate enough to connect with an imaginative youth pastor during his early teen years, Rick converted to Christianity (from raw hedonism) and began his spiritual journey. After attending Capernwray Bible School in the United Kingdom, Rick became a youth pastor himself, continuing in that calling for the next 28 years. Known for his creativity, over-the-top imagination and successful efforts to reach un-churched teens, Rick has flooded all the churches he's worked in with pagans, trolls and other wild converts. He also managed to squeeze out a regular two-page cartoon feature inSurfer Magazine and to author dozens of books. Currently, Rick serves as a teaching pastor at Kauai Christian Fellowship and continues to write and illustrate for various publishers. He lives with his beautiful wife, Lauren, their kids, a weenie dog and quiver of surfboards in Poipu, Hawaii.
