The Holy Ones promise us that we can become radiantly alive, unafraid, shining beacons of goodness and faith. You and I may look within and find that very hard to believe. Yet we hold the divine spark in our hearts, and we are aching to let it become a blazing fire which consumes all our foolishness and despair.

Bo Lozoff founded the Prison-Ashram Project in 1973, and incorporated that project as Human Kindness Foundation in 1987. HKF continues to send free copies of Lozoff's books to thousands of inmates every month. His first book, We're All Doing Time, was hailed by Village Voice as one of the 10 books everyone in the world should read. Known and loved in prisons throughout the world, he has also spoken widely in churches, meditation centers, and universities. Lozoff is also an inspiring singer-songwriter.
