Peter Clark pastored a church in Salem one generation after the infamous "Salem Witch Trials." This book was written in response to a work against infant baptism written by another famous theologian of the time, Dr. John Gill. This book is in very good condition, considering its age. Full leather hardcover. Blind stamped design on both covers. 7 raised bands on spine which are significantly worn. Lettering on spine faded to near obscurity. Main text body is free from writing or marginalia. Mild foxing throughout. Binding is solid. Previous owner's name written in ink on title page, along with a few other small markings in pencil on title page and some pencil and ink on front pastedown. Missing one leaf after title page (iii/iv). Both covers intact, but do show signs of wear along hinges; covers/spine are rubbed/scuffed and showing very mild biopredation. vi. 453 pp. Errata and table of contents at back, which are unpaginated. Full refund if not satisfied.

Store description
Since 2005, Shelley and Son Books has been passionate about books, and preserving their importance for current and future generations. We believe that virtue and beauty have a close relationship. By reading we gain knowledge. In knowledge we find things that inform our choices and beliefs. Therefore, as booksellers, we see that books have an aesthetic value and a heuristic value. We specialize in The Inklings, primarily "The Seven'": C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien, Dorothy Sayers, G. K. Chesterton, George MacDonald, Owen Barfield and Charles Williams. A sub-specialty is our significant collection of Christian Theology. But you'll also find works across the centuries, first editions, signed copies, and even modern books, too, across a broad selection of categories and genres. Customer service is of utmost importance to us, and our friendly staff is always happy to help. We assure our clients books of quality, as each copy is carefully graded and shipped with care. Located in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, we can be found on Main Street in Hendersonville, North Carolina, (just south of Asheville). We are primarily an online bookstore, but we invite you to make an appointment for an on-site visit! Shelley and Son Books is owned by Stan Shelley. …
