An issue of the sporadically published newspaper of the clandestine National Socialist Liberation Front. A cover photo depicts an Aryan-looking woman nursing a baby under the headline, "Why We Fight!" Content for this issue is sparse, but includes updates on the NSLF s relocation to Metairie from Buffalo, information on the first party congress held on Sept. 4th & 5th, 1982, a short article on "Why We Use the Swastika, and some useful historical information on the NSLF by M. Stachowski. The rest is filler with book distribution or recommended reading lists (the latter providing good insight into other far right publications), application and contribution forms, swastika jewelry, all available through Valhalla Sales. Also included is a subscription advert for James Mason s notorious Siege newsletter, which was affiliated with the NSLF. The NSLF was founded at a meeting on March 2, 1974, and was the brainchild of purged National Socialist White People s Party member, Joseph Tommasi, who argued for the type of political violence associated with leftist groups such as the Weathermen and Symbionese Liberation Army. Tommasi was killed by a rival national socialist in 1975 and the organization limped on before being taken over by Karl Hand in 1981. Always diminutive in size, the NSLF was the first among far right groups to advocate for acts of lone wolf terrorism. Terrorism scholar, Jeffrey Kaplan, has called their contribution to the concept of leaderless resistance "incalculable" (Leaderless resistance , Terrorism and Political Violence, 9:3, pp. 81-83.) The most thorough history of the group is found either in James Mason s book Siege (a compilation of his newsletter), or in the recently published National Socialist Liberation Front published by the extreme right American Futurist Publishing.
