There Are Demons In The Sea: Preaching The Message Of The Miracles Cycle B

Christ came to set God's people free from disobedience, disease, and death -- and each of the miracle events was not a "faith-healing" but rather a battle won, in which Jesus provided a cure from something for something. That's the compelling theme of this fascinating study of ten miracle stories from the gospel of Mark featured in Cycle B of the Revised Common Lectionary. Whether you're a busy pastor, church school teacher, discussion leader, or just an interested Bible student, There Are Demons In The Sea offers valuable and superbly organized background information -- Hoefler's scholarship, perceptive insight, and potent illustrative material make this volume an invaluable aid to preaching preparation or scriptural study.

Chapter titles include:
• The Gordian Knot -- Mark 1:21-28
• The Miracle Of Forgiveness -- Mark 2:1-12
• There Are Demons In The Sea -- Mark 4:35-41
• The Good Grocer -- Mark 6:30-44
• An Exile Of Silence Set Free -- Mark 7:31-37
... and more!
