Religion is like a tapestry of ideas. In the earliest of times it emanated out of the imaginations of a few, so we saw such things as the Temples of Aphrodite and the Temples of Bacchus. They were peaceful religions but involved with sex and sexual practices. From Ancient Egypt to Ancient Greece and Rome, religions were based on imaginations and what people wanted to believe. The Ancient Israelite religion evolved separately and was based on their understanding of the true God, which came through their prophets and the prophecies they gave. After the time of Christ the ancient fantasised religions faded away and religious beliefs became dominated by the beliefs of the Abrahamic religions that evolved from the Israelites, as well as the Hindu religion in India, Buddhism, Confucianism and few others. The ones aligned to the true God were dominated by people who were barbaric in nature. This is evidenced by their actions and writings. The ones created from imagination seemed to be generally more benign. Neither seems to have been very spiritual in nature in those times. This book explores the effects of ancient religions on the modern world and shows how an understanding of the purpose of life could possibly change the face of religion.
