Depth of Field

Depth of Field is a collection of poems, written in both formal and free verse, celebrating dreams, friendships, and passions and the intersections of history, mythology, personal and universal experiences.

Frank Pool was born in 1953 in Rock Springs, Wyoming, the son of a geologist and a registered nurse. He grew up in Longview, Texas, and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with High Honors in English, history, and philosophy. He received a Master's degree from the University of Texas in philosophy, with a minor concentration in Japanese language and literature. At various times in his life he has worked on an assembly line, managed a restaurant, coached golf, taught high school, and run marathons. He has edited five editions of the Austin Younger Poets Award Anthology, and his poems and reviews have appeared in a number of literary journals. He teaches International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement English in Austin, Texas.
