David Benioff, the screenwriter, also wrote the screenplays for Troy, Stay, and 25th Hour, which was based on his novel.

Khaled Hosseini is the author of the bestselling novels The Kite Runner (2003) and A Thousand Splendid Suns (2007). Born in Kabul, Afghanistan, the son of a diplomat whose family received political asylum in the United States in 1980, he lives in northern California, where he is a physician.
