Synopsis
Carolynn and Cynthia are at odds. Carolynn grew up oblivious to the existence of Cynthia, and now that she knows of her existence, she wants nothing to do with her. However, if they are to save the place they love, Cynthia must gain Carolynn’s trust, they must work together, and they must overcome their differences. While Carolynn lives wholly in the light, Cynthia struggles against the darkness that she fears will drag her down. But when she descends, will she be able to fight the darkness inside of her? And more importantly, should she? Join the sisters in their pursuit to save their world. And themselves.
About the Author
Amber N. P. Mays was born and raised a small-town girl in Northern Indiana. Born in 1989 as the only daughter to Steven and Sherry Mays, she is the oldest of three children. Mays' love of reading took root at an extremely young age. She gives credit for this passion to her grandfathers who told fantastical tales to her as a child. Due to her grandfathers' encouragement, her love of reading became so fervent that Mays vehemently passed this family tradition on by reading fictional stories to her younger brothers, Chase and Dylan. While in high school, Mays' was no longer able to resist her fated destiny and launched her writing career. After dabbling in the creation of lyrics and poems, Mays obtained a Bachelor's Degree with a major in Creative Writing and minor in Theatre from Indiana University - Purdue University Fort Wayne in 2013. Her education did not stop there, as her love for writing grew stronger and her creative interests grew wider. Without hesitation, Mays quickly returned to Indiana University - Purdue University Fort Wayne to acquire her Master's. In May of 2015, Mays graduated with her Master's in English with a contraction in Writing Studies. Fueled by Mays' fifteen years of acting experience, her extensive and intricate history of reading, and several years of undergraduate writing, Mays set out to write her first novella. Similar to many other beginning authors, Mays was left utilizing those around her, mainly family and close friends, for plot ideas and critical feedback. Mays relied on her father for proofreading her material. In 2014, Mays completed and self-published the first book in The Journey Series, Discovery. Since Mays' preferred genres spreading from Young Adult Fantasy to Adult Romance, it is no surprise that her first professional work revolved around a love story set in a magical land. In addition to her Bachelor's and Master's degrees, Mays is currently in the process of being a licensed secondary education teacher. With two books under her belt and an immense amount of education to provide her with the academic knowledge that is required for success, there is no doubt that Mays will soon have a multitude of books filled with fantasies that our younger generations will long to keep under their pillows at night to hold them dear and close to their hearts, inspiring dreams full of magical kingdoms!
