This is both the first English edition and the second French edition as well as the first reprint of the original. Denys lived in Acadia from 1633 to 1671. The first edition was published in Paris, 1672. Denys was a merchant, arrived in Acadia in 1632 and spent the next forty years trying to develop the colony.
