Text Part 1 164 pages + Part 1I 120 pages + (part III) Prints 64 single sided pages of prints (numbered viii + viii + viii + viii + xxxii). Condition looks like 18th cent. 1/8th leather & mottled binding Fair/Good rubbed, corners very rubbed (see scan), Contents (Prints Very good) Text poor/Fair, no inscriptions, pages trimmed, some with tear, corner tip/ edge loss, Prints look untrimmed, mostly very good condition, the odd corner tip fold. All 3 title pages undated, but to base of a few pages is Published Dec 18 1786 & one Published March 7, 1788. Text is basic in so much,it includes Amalekites, Cyrenaica, the Arabs, Gauls, The landing of Julia Caesar, Chinese, Americans and lots more, mostly in small sections, some only a page or two. This title went through a few editions, including early editions like this being published in 3 parts, and sold bound in 1, 2 or 3 parts. This copy is a complete edition with all the 3 parts, and this is either the first or more likely the 2nd edition, or part 1st & part 2nd bound together. Size: 9 x 10cm Approx.
